Exploration in Eve Online can be done for profit. Even in hi-sec you can make decent ISK. However, in my opinion, some of the best exploration has nothing to do with profit, though perhaps some small amount of risk might be undertaken.
There are various places to visit in Eve Online as you can imagine, but some of the coolest places are figuratively right under your nose! The screenshots of Sansha Nation ships and structures were part of an incursion. I personally didn't take up this particular incursion. Instead, I was hanging out in a Covert Ops frigate snapping away, mentally playing the spai game as I zoomed into various points of interest to snap screenshots.
Sansha Nation might be a bunch of freaks, but man are their ships wicked looking! As an aside, you can fly these too. Train up in Amaar and Caldari spaceship command. Do not get caught up in their looks - as an aside, the screenshot above contains two Nightmares, the Sansha Nation Battleship. They can easily be mistaken as being of Gallente origination as they bear a resemblance to the Gallente battlecruiser, the Myrmidon.
Not all of the cool places even have to do with the bad guys... well the considered bad guys as being defined as NPC pirates. Neutral NPC corporations have various places throughout New Eden as well. Take for example the below screenshots of Roden shipyard out in the middle of nowhere... Building their Megathron Navy Issue Battleships by the dozens at a time. The sheer amount of ISK contained at this particular site is noteworthy!
