Flying internet spaceships

I have a tendency to like all of the ships in Eve Online. Seriously, all of them. There are some I may like more than others, it's true but I like all of them. So what's a player like me to do when I cash in on some PLEX for ISK?

Go ship shopping!

The big ships I got were:

  • Orca
  • Dominix
  • Megathron
The special ships I got were:
  • Federation Navy Comet
  • Caldari Navy Hookbill
  • Imperial Navy Slicer
But, wait. There are more special ships...
  • Dramiel
  • Daredevil
I also picked up a few other ships such as:
  • Myrmidon Battlecruiser
  • Brutix Battlecruiser
  • Hawk Assault Frigate
At this point, I have at least 1 ship at each of the Eve University campuses, with several around HSC and HQ. Now I need to fit all of these ships and go flying around in them. Find some rats to beat up on. Fly in a fleet or two. Get myself into and out of trouble so that I can figure out which out of all of these do I like the most. Which ones I fly the best...

Not all spaceships have to be expensive. For example one of my favorite ships to fly is a Minmitar Talwar Destroyer. Fairly cheap to get the hull and fit, decent return on insurance if the worse happens and they look sleek. Personally, I love the ship skins in the game, so when I can find good deals on them or have a couple bucks for AUR I go ahead and pick up some. Especially for those ships, I enjoy flying the most.

Here's the thing in Eve Online that I've discovered when it comes to ships. First off, don't fly anything you can't afford to lose. Not just ISK necessarily but willingness to gamble. Example on the above ships, when it comes to the Orca I have NO intention of putting it at risk and so will remain docked most of the time while Eve University is at war (which is most of the time). The Dramiel though while expensive, looks hawt and I've already enjoyed flying it - if it gets destroyed this week, I may be awhile before replacing it. Why? I have so many other ships I am trying to get used to at the moment that losing a couple of the cruiser and below isn't a major hurt if I lose them, even if I'm not replacing them right away.

The other thing I've learned about flying internet spaceships is to try out all of the things that you are capable of flying! Some ships may be out of reach, even for the time-being (my example is I've chosen not to replace my Rattlesnake yet - though I luv this ship!), while others you may get in and just not like them for whatever reason (in which case sell them!).

Anyways, this is my shared experience and knowledge for this post. Fly safe (or dangerously) and remember to have fun. These are COOL internet spaceships y'all!
