I've been playing Eve Online now for about a year. Most of that time was in NPC corporations or small player ran corporations in Null sec. I absolutely love Null sec by the way. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I joined Eve University.
There were several reasons for this but the main three were:
- Wanting exposure to a bigger community and feeling like I belonged.
- Needing to learn more about the game, as in so many ways I am barely more experienced than a brand new Alpha character during their trial period.
- Needing a place that I can experience it all - or at least all of the content in the game that I am interested in. Which is to say, a lot.
So, the purpose of this blog will be to document my experiences with Eve University and my growth as a player. Along the way, I will share my triumphs and failures and perhaps share some screen shots and anecdotes along the way.
This is also part of my giving back to the community. Eve University members are encouraged to find a balance between "self" and "service" and this is probably the biggest draw I had when I decided to join Eve University. It is also a requirement in order to advance in Eve University. And while at the time of this posting I am waiting for my Freshman rank promotion, there are two other titles I aspire to, that of Sophmore and Graduate. This blog is part of that longer goal.
It is sincerely my wish though that other newbros in and outside of Eve University will find something they can use or perhaps relate to in this blog and thus help them along their journey in Eve Online.
Welcome one and all to the new Eve Online blog: Eve Freshman and in Eve Online, you can find me as Valnac Rizes.
